What is the water cycle?

Water is in different places and in different states all the time. Water can be a solid, a liquid, or a gas. It can be in all these different forms all over the world, thanks to the water cycle. The water cycle is the journey of water. It is made up of three main parts: evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. We’ve had a look at evaporation and condensation, now it’s time to learn about precipitation!

Precipitation

Precipitation is one of the main parts of the water cycle, it happens after condensation. When water falls to the Earth from the atmosphere in the form of rain, snow and hail, it is called precipitation.

People, plants and animals all rely on precipitation for fresh drinking water.
