All About Venus

Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It is also the hottest planet in the Solar System. The planet is named after the Roman goddess Venus. It is the brightest planet in the sky and is known as the morning star or the evening star. It can be seen just before the sun comes up, and just after the sun goes down.

Venus and Earth are similar in size which is why Venus is sometimes called the sister planet of Earth.

Venus takes 225 days to travel around the Sun. It has no rings around it and no moons.

On Venus, the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east because it spins backwards. This is opposite to Earth.

Venus is the sixth-largest of the eight planets. It has mountains, valleys, and thousands of volcanoes. Water isn't found on Venus as it is too hot.
