Using 'a' and 'an' correctly
Use 'a' before words that start with a consonant sound, for example: a dog, a book, a unicorn.
Use 'an' before words that start with a vowel sound, for example: an apple, an egg, an umbrella.
Students read the sentences and circle the correct answer. There is an answer sheet included for quick marking. Students can also practise marking their own work. Use this helpful worksheet at home or in the classroom to help children learn when to use 'a' and 'an' in their writing.
