Adverbs are words that describe how, when and where an action happens. We call these the adverb questions.

Sally spoke to her teacher quietly.

The adverb quietly describes how Sally spoke to her teacher. 

 

Ben and Sam are going to the cinema tomorrow.

The adverb tomorrow describes when Ben and Sam are going to the cinema.

 

The dog ran outside.

The adverb outside describes where the dog ran.
