By now you already know the 12 months of the year: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.

These 12 months make 1 year.

Some months have 30 days and some have 31 days. February is the only month which has 28 days.

Months that have 30 days are: September, April, June and November

Months that have 31 days are: October, December, January, March, May, July and August

Months that have 28 days are: February

Here’s a rhyme to help you remember:

Thirty days has September,

April, June, and November.

All the rest have thirty-one,

Except for February alone,

Which has twenty-eight days clear,

And twenty-nine in each leap year.

A leap year happens around every 4 years. This means that every 4 years, February has 1 extra day.

If we add up all the days in each month that makes 365 days in a year.

When it's a leap year, it adds up to 366 days.

So we know how many months and days there are in a year, what about weeks?

1 week is made up of 7 days. If we divide 365 days of the year into 7 days we will know how many weeks we have in a year.

365 divided by 7 = 52 weeks in a year.

Let’s go over that quickly:

1 year is made up of 12 months = 365 days = 52 weeks
