How do we weigh objects?

Weight is how heavy something is. Weight is usually measured in grams (g) and kilograms (kg).

Smaller objects are normally weighed in g.

Larger objects are normally weighed in kg.

1 kilogram (kg) is heavier than 1 gram (g).

The bag weighs 1000 g.

The book weighs 300 g.

1000 g is more than 300 g.

The bag is heavier than the book.

 

Example 1:

Which of these weighs the most?
3 g,  9 g,  20 g,  14 g
Answer: 20 g

 

Example 2:

Which of these weighs the least?
5 kg,  13 kg,  9 kg,  7 kg
Answer: 5 kg
