Identifying conjunctions - Time, place and cause

Here are some examples of conjunctions expressing time, place, and cause:

Time conjunctions: after, before, when, while, as, until, since, once, as soon as, by the time.

Place conjunctions: above, below, between, inside, outside, near, next to, behind, in front of, across.

Cause conjunctions: because, since, so, therefore, as a result, due to, owing to, thanks to, on account of, in order to.

Students practise identifying conjunctions that express time, place and cause. Understanding conjunctions and how they connect ideas is an important skill for Year 3 students to develop in order to improve their writing and communication skills.
